Writer/Director Fred Glass is a video producer (“Golden Lands, Working Hands;” “Tax the Rich: An Animated Fairy Tale”), retired union communications director and labor historian. His videos have been shown on California PBS stations, in schools and universities, labor education programs, museums, and in union and political organizing campaigns. He is an active member of the East Bay chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America.
Artist Jos Sances has made his living as a printmaker and muralist for more than 45 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. He founded Alliance Graphics, a successful union screen print shop, and several years earlier, co-founded Mission Gráfica at San Francisco’s Mission Cultural Center. Throughout, Jos has maintained an output of art that address issues and ideas. The Library of Congress holds 495 of his prints, and he has shown his work in venues across the country, from the Avenue 50 Gallery in Los Angeles to the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Currently his work is included in “¡Printing the Revolution! The Rise and Impact of Chicano Graphics 1965 to Now,” at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Animator Paul Zappia is an illustrator and animator from Los Angeles, CA and is a co-founder of the small creative studio, Down the Street where he currently works. He is a former community organizer for Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign and an active member in both DSA Los Angeles and California DSA, for which he produced art and an explainer video during the Prop 15 campaign. Rick Tejada-Flores is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with more than 40 years of work in film and television. Among his credits are “Si Se Puede!;” “Go Chanting, Libre!;” “Elvia, the Fight for Land and Liberty;” “Rivera in America;” “The Fight in the Fields, Cesar Chavez and the Farmworkers Struggle;” “Jasper Johns, Ideas in Paint;” “Race is the Place;” “The Good War and Those Who Refused to Fight It;” “Orozco, Man of Fire;” and six exhibition films for the American Encounters exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. Singer Elise Bryant is the executive director of the Labor Heritage Foundation and president of the Coalition of Labor Union Women. She is also a member of CWA/TNG Local 32035 and AFM Local 1000 as well as director of the DC Labor Chorus.
Voiceover artist Sophie Becker is an actress and film editor based in Brooklyn. Her on-camera credits include Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries” and “The Bigger Picture” — a visual poetry series developed by Youth Speaks and UCSF. She has appeared on stage as Jessica in Kenneth Lonergan’s “This Is Our Youth” and in Caryl Churchill’s “Love and Information.” Sophie’s film editing work spans documentary to dance film, including collaborations with YakFilms, Destiny Arts Center, and Democratic Socialists of America. Her film and photographic work has been featured in the New York Times, the San Francisco Tiny Dance Film Festival, and Al-Tiba9.
